areas of interest
Katherine is an experienced physiotherapist with a caring and honest approach. She has worked in private practice for over 20 years in the areas of musculoskeletal physiotherapy and women’s health.
Katherine is passionate about helping her patients to feel better and move better. She is a strong advocate for regular exercise to benefit both physical and mental health. She enjoys helping people of all ages and stages, including teenagers, pregnant and postnatal women, and older adults.
Areas of interest include spinal pain (neck, upper back and lower back), sciatica and various problems resulting from poor postures, musculoskeletal imbalances and generalised deconditioning.
One of Katherine’s special interests is the treatment of headaches and migraines. Using the Watson Headache ® Approach, a detailed systematic assessment is undertaken to determine whether the neck is involved or not with the patient’s
presentation. In cases where the neck is involved, a course of treatment may be recommended to target the relevant areas in the upper part of the neck, using
specific techniques in a safe and controlled way. High velocity manipulation techniques are never used with this approach to treatment.
THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
Katherine enjoys combining a hands-on approach with exercise prescription and
advice, to achieve short-term relief and long-term improvements. Hands-on treatment may include joint mobilisation, soft tissue massage, myofascial release and dry needling.
Keeping the patient’s goals in mind, Katherine aims to achieve the best results for her patients with individualised treatment plans.
